What is A Silhouette InstaLift™?
Although the physical aging process is natural, it can be hard to stand by and watch your face lose volume, sag, and develop deep folds or wrinkles. Many people consider a facelift, but there are alternative options. Our patients who aren’t ready for a facelift often choose FDA-approved Silhouette InstaLift as an effective, minimally invasive solution.
How Does Silhouette InstaLift Work?
Silhouette InstaLift features a resorbable suspension suture with bi-directional cones. The sutures lift and reposition the tissue under the skin while the cones hold the skin in an elevated position. Both the cones and sutures are made of glycolide and L-lactide so they stimulate fibroblasts for collagen production. As collagen production gradually matures it repositions volume in the treatment area and provides natural-looking results.
Silhouette InstaLift Treatment Areas
A Silhouette InstaLift can lift and contour the following areas:
Candidates for InstaLift
Ideal candidates for a Silhouette InstaLift are men and women who are looking to refresh their appearance without surgery, injections, or lasers. There is no age requirement, however, patients are typically over the age of 35. Prospective patients should have a clear idea of the results they want as well as the limitations of the procedure. Additionally, good candidates cannot have skin that is significantly thinned or damaged.
The InstaLift Procedure
To start, Dr. Flaharty will mark the treatment areas with entrance and exit points. Then, he will insert a needle, with the suture and cones attached, about 5mm into the skin and guide it through the tissue. The needle is pulled through the exit point and the suture remains in the skin. This process is repeated for each marked treatment area and takes about 45 minutes to complete. Patients will be awake but receive a local anesthetic to keep them comfortable.
“As a long term advocate of injectable fillers and Botox to stay ahead of “the curve”, I went to Britten for a touch up. After a thorough evaluation, she recommended an Instalift to relieve draping which was the causing creasing in my upper face. Britten explained this procedure would lessen the amount of fillers I would need. She did the Instalift the same day and I am very happy. I’m now planning another visit to treat my lower face.” – Lisa G.
Is an InstaLift the Same as a Thread Lift?
The Silhouette InstaLift is not considered a type of thread lift. The new technology of sutures with bi-directional cones doesn’t just reposition the skin but the underlying tissue. The underlying tissue layers are what really causes sagging. In addition, the sutures are not permanent but are absorbed by the body over time.
Before & After Silhouette InstaLift
Recovery from Silhouette InstaLift
Silhouette InstaLift doesn’t require any sort of extended recuperation. Patients can return to their usual activities as soon after their procedures as they feel comfortable.
Immediately following your appointment, your results will be visible. Although you may see some visible needle marks in your skin, these go away on their own within a few days, leaving behind only beautiful, improved tone. As your body absorbs the sutures and stimulates collagen production your results will continue to develop and improve throughout the next few months.
“When I heard about the InstaLift at Azul, I was so excited to know I could have instant improvement in just one visit and even better results over time.
I am thrilled with the results of the InstaLift. I feel like I had a mini face lift without the surgery! I have depended on Dr. Flaharty and the staff at Azul for years to help me look as young as I feel. Love you Azul!!” – Judy W.
How Long Will My Silhouette InstaLift Results Last?
The results of the Silhouette InstaLift can last for up to 2 years, and potentially even longer when the procedure is combined with other treatments, such as skin tightening with INFINI™, Botox, or dermal fillers.
Are There Side Effects from an InstaLift?
Patients may experience some swelling, bruising, redness, or minor pain after placement. These side effects are mild and typically subside by themselves in a short time. Other side effects can include sensory nerve injury, asymmetry, or banding.
