QWO Cellulite Treatment
What is Qwo®?
How does QWO work?
Enzymes called collagenases target the structural causes under the skin, where cellulite starts. It’s thought that QWO works by releasing the thickened collagen and fibrous bands that hold cellulite together, then redistributes fat cells, while stimulating the growth of new collagen. The result is tighter, firmer, more youthful looking skin.
Is QWO a surgical procedure?
No, QWO is an injectable treatment option. It is a clear, odorless, water-like mixture that is injected through tiny needles into the dimples responsible for creating the appearance of cellulite.
How do I know if QWO is right for me?
During consultation, your provider can determine if you are an appropriate candidate for QWO.
Can QWO be used to treat cellulite in other areas besides the buttocks?
QWO is only approved for treatment of moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women. Endo Aesthetics is continuing to investigate additional areas of treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
Each treatment visit may include up to two treatment areas. QWO injections will be given three weeks apart for a total of three treatment visits.
What is the downtime with Qwo?
Patients typically have bruising, mild to moderate soreness and possible swelling. Most patients lead an active lifestyle the day after treatment with Qwo.
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is a complex multi-factorial condition hallmarked by fat trapped in the dermal layer of your skin leading to dimpling, waviness, or “cottage cheese” appearing skin texture.
What causes cellulite?
Cellulite forms when fibrous bands called septae, which connect the skin to the underlying muscle fascia, tighten irregularly, pulling down on the skin, and/or begin to break down, allowing the normal layer of fat beneath the skin to push upward. This results in the puckering or the cottage cheese appearance. An estimated 85 to 90% of all adult women have some cellulite.
