MOXI

The Florida sunshine is a wonderful gift, but too much sun exposure can diminish your skin’s appearance. Here at Azul Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa, we offer an abundance of treatment choices. MOXI™ is a non-invasive laser treatment that can work restoratively and also preventatively to keep your skin looking its best throughout the years!

We’d love to provide you with the information you need to address your cosmetic needs. Contact us at (239) 379-8912 to schedule your consultation at one of our convenient office locations.

What is MOXI™ Laser Treatment?

MOXI is a non-ablative fractional laser that gently affects the upper layers of the skin. This treatment works in a non-damaging way that stimulates the regeneration of healthy new cells.

How Does it Work?

The fractional laser treatment creates micro-zones of tissue coagulation across a targeted treatment area. Being a non-ablative laser, MOXI does not create microchannels nor does it remove any layer of the skin. The energy that is deposited stimulates a repair response and also pulls out hyperpigmentation at the same time as old cells are replaced with new ones.

Does MOXI™ Treatment Hurt?

For the most part, patients find their MOXI treatment easy to tolerate. The process usually doesn’t take long, and we begin by applying a topical numbing medication to the skin. This doesn’t completely numb the area but it does reduce sensation quite a bit. During your MOXI treatment, you might feel a warming sensation or some stinging or tingling. Some of the treatments that we perform in our Bonita Springs facility can include ProNox. Talk to your provider to explore your options for comfort management.

How Soon Will I See the Results of My MOXI™ Laser Treatment?

After a MOXI treatment, the skin goes through a regenerative process. As that occurs, your skin may initially look red and may feel warm. Small microdots called “mendz” should develop three to five days after your treatment. Your skin may feel rough, like sandpaper, for a few days and some areas or spots may darken. As old, damaged skin cells slough off and new ones replace them you may notice brighter, smoother, firmer skin. Because part of the magic of MOXI is collagen stimulation, you can expect your skin to improve in texture and appearance for as long as a few months.

Will I Need Multiple Treatments?

You may need multiple MOXI treatments to achieve your desired outcome. Your provider will discuss their recommendations with you at your consultation visit, once they’ve listened to your goals and assessed your skin. Depending on their findings, they may recommend that you schedule a series of three to four treatments scheduled out over a few months.
