What is ProNox and How Can it Help You Feel More Comfortable During Your Beauty Treatment?

Effects of ageing, frown scowl linesAt Azul Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa, we offer a wide range of facial procedures, both surgical and nonsurgical. While many people express an interest in minimally-invasive and non-invasive procedures like laser skin rejuvenation, microneedling, and injectables, these and other non-surgical treatments may still cause some degree of anxiety. Patients still harbor concerns that their procedure may be more uncomfortable than they imagine. Instead of putting off those treatments that could help you manage your aging process more efficiently, contact us to learn more about ProNox. We are one of few offices that provides this safe, easy form of sedation and analgesia for a variety of services.

What is ProNox?

ProNox is an inventive new form of sedation that you can self-administer during your treatment. It is a combination of nitrous oxide and oxygen that you inhale through a sterile, single-use mouthpiece. Nitrous oxide is one of the oldest forms of conscious sedation in modern history. It is most commonly known for use in the dental field, where patients can receive the sedative via a small mask worn over the nose. Known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide works very quickly to reduce feelings of anxiety. It also has a slight analgesic effect.

ProNox is like pain management and stress relief at your fingertips. You don’t have to wait for someone else to administer the sedative, and you don’t have to sit with a mask over your nose for the entirety of your treatment. This is one of the primary advantages of this service; you are in complete control. That alone has helped many patients feel immediately more comfortable about undergoing procedures that they had once felt unsure of. During treatment, you hold on to the mouthpiece and, when you feel anxious, you inhale the odorless, tasteless gas. The effects of nitrous oxide are almost immediate and can last for the duration of your procedure via periodic, brief inhalations. At the conclusion of your treatment, we turn up the oxygen and turn off the nitrous oxide to reverse the sedative effects. Because of the fast-acting nature of onset and reversal, you can safely drive and resume normal activities as you wish.

Minimally-invasive procedures have come a long way in recent years. Now, thanks to ProNox, you can comfortably and confidently take advantage of any service that suits your needs.
