These Patients Chose to Have a Facelift with Dr. Flaharty – Hear Their Stories

One of the wonderful things about working in medicine are the people you come in contact with every day. Every person who walks through the doors of our practice has their own story, their own reasons for being there, and a certain desired result they have in mind. I’ve performed over 20,000 surgeries, and getting to know those patients and helping them rediscover their youth and energy is always a pleasure.
I thought that it would be nice to highlight two such patients, both of whom came in for face and neck lifts, as well as a few other treatments. Here are Linda and Jane’s stories, in their own words.
Linda’s Story
I’ve always believed that age is simply a number and that you’re only as young as you feel.
That being said, I’m a 66-year-young woman and I was very unhappy with the droopy skin on my face and neck. Every time I looked in the mirror I’d think, “I don’t look the way that I feel inside.” The droopy skin made me look tired, like I lacked energy, but nothing could be further from the truth.
I first met Dr. Patrick Flaharty when he performed an eyelift procedure on my husband. Up to that point, I’d never considered cosmetic surgery as an option. The results of my husband’s eyelift procedure were, if you pardon the pun, eye opening! I decided to go to Dr. Flaharty to get my own eyelids done, as well as a browlift.
The results were beyond what I’d ever hoped for. Everyone could see the sparkle in my eyes again! My worries that cosmetic surgery would make me look like someone else were completely unfounded. In fact, I looked more like myself than I had in years!
I decided to take the full plunge, and went in for a face and necklift. Today, I am thrilled with the way I look. My husband and all of my friends tell me that I look so much younger, and I feel wonderful!

Jane’s Story
Nothing can make you feel quite as old as seeing your children grow up. A few years ago, when I was in my early 60s, my daughter told me that she was getting married. I was over the moon with happiness for her! In my mind’s eye, she was still my little girl, but the reality was that she had grown up and was about to step into a new phase of her life.
All of a sudden, I started to feel a little old. I started to worry about greeting old friends and family at the wedding, who I hadn’t seen for years. I was thrilled to be the ‘mother of the bride’ but I was worried that I would look like the bride’s grandmother. I wanted to create ‘forever memories’ that would be captured in photos and film that would reflect my youthful spirit and approach to life, inside and out.
My daughter’s wedding finally pushed me into action. I had been considering a face and necklift for some time, and I realized that there would never be a better time than to prepare for the wedding.
I was referred to Dr. Flaharty by a friend and upon meeting him, I just knew that I was in good hands. After a consultation, he performed a face & neck lift, neck sub-lipectomy, and injected fillers into my deeper wrinkles.
The result was perfect, and I couldn’t have been happier. Dr. Flaharty created a youthful, natural look that reflected how I felt inside. The remarkable thing was how he gently turned back the years. I still looked like “me”, but it was the “me” that I remembered from years ago.
After the wedding, I came back to share some of the wedding photos with Dr. Flaharty and his staff. Even though they weren’t there in body, they certainly were in spirit. They were all a part of that special day and my ‘forever memories’. Thank you so much.
