The Science of Juvéderm Voluma
Juvéderm dermal fillers are made with a base of hyaluronic acid. Each Juvéderm product has a slightly different consistency (that’s why there are so many of them). Voluma is the soft tissue filler that has been formulated with the exact density needed to add volume back into the cheeks. Hyaluronic acid is a carbohydrate compound that the body produces naturally. As soon as it is introduced into subcutaneous tissue, it attracts water molecules that it can then adhere to. It is the marriage between hyaluronic acid particles and water molecules that accentuates the hollow, apple, or apex of the cheek area. Voluma is specially formulated with cross-linked molecules to increase its “staying power” and can last up to two years.

Juvéderm products contain Lidocaine and our injectors are highly trained. This combination makes treatment very comfortable. Side effects of dermal fillers are generally mild and limited to temporary redness and pinpoint swelling in the treatment area.
