Cosmetic surgery is one of those industries where, if you don’t keep up with the latest advances, you’re going to be left behind. Every day, new technology and procedures are being developed which have the potential to deliver better and more natural-looking cosmetic results, with less associated downtime. That’s the reason we’ve recently debuted an incredible new non-surgical procedure that completely revolutionizes the concept of the non-surgical facelift: the Silhouette InstaLift™.
Other Facelifts Options
Although the surgical Azul Natural Lift is the still gold-standard of facial rejuvenation, some people just aren’t ready yet for full-blown cosmetic surgery. They might just be looking for some minor improvements to their appearance, or they simply want to avoid having an invasive procedure with the associated downtime. For those people, we offer a number of non-surgical alternatives that, while not being as effective or long-lasting as a surgical face and neck lift, can still deliver great results. Our go-to has been the Liquid Facelift, a terrific combination of Botox® and dermal fillers that lifts and contours the face while also eliminating wrinkles. Although the Liquid Facelift is still one of our best procedures, the new Silhouette InstaLift™ is giving it a run for its money!
Silhouette InstaLift™
As we age, we begin to lose collagen and elastin in our faces, causing skin drooping, loss of tautness, and general signs of aging like wrinkles. There are a number of cosmetic procedures that can fix these issues, like fillers and Sculptra to replace the loss of subcutaneous fat, or surgical face and neck lifts to remove excess skin. Or we could go a completely new and innovative route to rejuvenate your face… The Silhouette InstaLift™ is one of our most advanced, and by far one of our most mysterious-sounding, non-surgical facial procedures. This minimally invasive procedure doesn’t just give you a superficial facial rejuvenation, it provides you with an incredible lift in the deeper levels of your skin. The Silhouette InstaLift™ utilizes tiny threads to lift the face. Essentially, they are a string of dissolvable sutures with tiny cones on either end. We insert these threads into your face along your cheeks and jawline. As these threads are pulled through the skin, the cones anchor themselves in your tissue and start to pull and lift at a deep level, gently tightening the skin above. The threads are made from the same completely safe bio-absorbable material as Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid). As they are absorbed, your tissue will start to heal around them, creating new, permanent tissue anchors to help lock your results in place. Even better, the threads will also stimulate collagen growth in the deeper levels of the skin, further smoothing out wrinkles and improving facial volume.
The incredible thing about this procedure is that it only takes about an hour, and has barely any associated downtime. You come in, we do the procedure, and then you can immediately see your results! As this is a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment, you only need a local anesthetic to assist in your comfort. Not only that, as the threads start to dissolve and your tissue heals, you will see even more lift in your face over time. After the procedure, you will need about two days to recover (compared to up to two weeks associated with a surgical facelift).
The only thing with the Silhouette InstaLift™ is that your results are somewhat temporary, something it shares with all non-surgical procedures. That said, it does last longer than most! You can expect a lift to last for approximately 18 months, after which you can come in for another Silhouette InstaLift™.
So, will the Silhouette InstaLift™ eventually become our standard option for a non-surgical facelift? The Liquid Facelift isn’t going anywhere at the moment, as it is still a very effective non-surgical procedure. That said, for the right patients, Dr. Flaharty has been quite impressed with the results from the Silhouette InstaLift™. It provides our patients with a long-lasting, non-surgical facelift solution, and the feedback from them has been incredible.
