Introducing the Azul Instalift: The New Non-Surgical Facelift!

If you ask someone to name a cosmetic surgical procedure, odds are that the first thing that will come to their mind is a facelift. Facelifts have been around for decades and, thanks to tabloid coverage of botched celebrity surgeries in the 80s, have gotten a reputation for creating an unnatural, tight expression. Boy, have things changed since then!
Today, a surgical facelift, especially the Azul Natural Lift, is considered the gold standard of facial rejuvenation, lifting and tightening the skin of the jaw and neckline. That said, we know that not everyone is a great candidate for surgery. Many people are understandably nervous about getting surgery, with the associated recovery periods and the very slim potential of complications. Others might be younger, only experiencing mild laxity of the jowls, and a full surgical facelift could seem like overkill. For all of those people, we have a brand new non-surgical option that can give you comparable results to a surgical facelift: the Azul Instalift!
The Azul Instalift
In the cosmetic surgery business, we want to keep on top of every trend and innovation to be able to offer you the best services we can. A popular treatment a few years ago was the Contour Thread Lift. This was a non-surgical procedure where sutures (AKA threads) were placed under the skin to lift and tighten the face. We offered Contour Thread Lifts at Azul and had good success with the procedure. Although the procedure did provide great results, the sutures and knots used were permanent, and sometimes you could feel them underneath the skin or they could cause mild discomfort. These were generally minor problems but the manufacturer eventually pulled the product off the market and for a number of years we did not hear anything about suture lifts.
Enter the Azul Instalift!
The Azul Instalift is an a new innovation, using the same principle of the threading procedure, but with cutting-edge materials that completely eliminate the issue of being able to feel the permanent suture under the skin. For the Azul Instalift, the suture is made of Poly-L-lactic acid, an absorbable polymer similar to that used for Sculptra treatments. This material is broken down by the body over the course of six months. Poly-L-lactic acid also has the benefit of stimulating collagen production under the skin. As the suture dissolves, the newly formed collagen will help hold your tissue in its new, elevated position. Basically, your skin provides its own support!
In the Azul Instalift, the suture is also bidirectional and self-anchoring, so you don’t anchoring sutures to the deep tissue. No palpable knots under the skin. The suture has a series of cones that, when slid through the tissue, slide easily one way but catch the tissue when pulled in the opposite way thus lifting the tissue. After injecting a small amount of local anesthetic, we simply use a long, straight needle to place the suture under the skin, making only small punctures in the skin, rather than any incisions.
The Azul Instalift is a minimally invasive procedure with no downtime, but you may have some swelling and soreness in the face, which should fade after a week or so. You can resume your regular activities the next day without any concerns! We only ask that you be gentle when touching or cleansing your face.
As with all non-surgical cosmetic procedures, the results of the Azul Instalift won’t last as long as those of a surgical facelift. You can expect your results to last around two years. Remember, this is a cutting-edge non-surgical procedure, so exact numbers aren’t quite available yet. That said, it is incredibly safe, as the suture is completely bioabsorbable.
The Azul Instalift is absolutely perfect for those who aren’t quite ready for a surgical facelift. Those patients with mild facial laxity and healthy skin are the best candidates.
