InstaLift is a game changer when compared to the older “threading” procedures. Using dissolvable suture made of Poly-L-lactic acid, InstaLift is absorbed naturally by your body over the course of 6-12 months. With poly-L-lactic acid you get an added benefit in that it stimulates collagen production under the skin. As the sutures dissolve, the newly formed collagen helps hold your tissue in its new, elevated position. Essentially, your skin provides its own support!
The treatment begins with marking the entrance and exit points for the InstaLift sutures. These specialized sutures are bidirectional and self-anchoring to hold their position once placed. The suture has a series of cones that, when slid through the subcutaneous tissue, easily slide one way but catch the tissue when pulled in the opposite direction, thus lifting the tissue. After injecting a small amount of local anesthetic to keep you relaxed and comfortable, we simply use a long, straight needle to place the suture under the skin, creating only small entry and exit sites in the skin rather than any incisions.
InstaLift is a minimally invasive procedure with no downtime and the procedure itself usually only takes about 45 minutes. You may have some swelling and bruising, but that should fade after a week or so. You can resume most of your regular activities the next day without any concerns. We only ask that you avoid “bouncy” activities like tennis or jogging for a few weeks while the tissues attach firmly to the sutures. One of the best things about this procedure is that results last about two years! There aren’t many in-office, non-surgical options that give you those long-lasting results!
