Tightening Up the Skin
Skin tightening is, of course, the #1 use for INFINI. Its versatility and ease of use makes it one of our most effective non-surgical treatments, and it can be safely used on the face, neck, forehead and jawline to reduce wrinkles and tighten the skin.
In traditional microneedling, tiny needles are used, to bypass the top layer of the skin and inflict a very slight injury to the deeper layers. This kicks your body’s natural healing abilities into action, cuing the production of new cells and collagen. As new collagen is produced (replacing the collagen lost to time and age), the skin above will start to become tighter, improving texture and reducing wrinkles.
This process is supercharged in INFINI. The very tips of each of INFINI’s microneedles produces heat in the form of RF energy, causing the already existing collagen to immediately contract and tighten the skin above.
Acne Scarring
If you suffered from acne when you were young, you may have come away with acne scarring on the face that has stayed with you all these years later. INFINI can provide you with a permanent solution to this issue, allowing you to get rid your acne scars for good.
As INFINI’s microneedles penetrate past the top layer of your skin and the RF energy heats and contracts collagen, your body’s healing mechanisms go into overdrive and start producing new collagen, replacing the abnormal collagen that can develop under scar tissue while the wound was healing. Once this abnormal collagen has broken down, you can see a remarkable improvement in your skin’s texture as old acne scars begin to fade. The same principles of abnormal collagen replacement can also be applied to non-acne scars as well, although the degree of the improvement may vary from person to person.
Improvement of Adult Acne
This benefit of INFINI is more of a by-product than an intentional use, but it can be a rather nice side effect!
Some patients have noticed that their adult acne improves in general after an INFINI treatment. It is speculated that this may be because the INFINI microneedles slightly damage the sebaceous glands when they puncture the skin. As the production of sebum is one of the root causes of acne, the damage INFINI inflicts reduces the amount of sebum produced over time. This can be a temporary improvement, as the sebaceous glands will eventually heal and resume producing normal levels of sebum.
It’s important to keep in mind that INFINI is not an acne treatment. Any improvement to your acne is a temporary side effect. However, we offer several effective acne treatments at our Medical Spa.
Safe for All Skin Types
INFINI can offer patients the same skin-tightening results with none of the pigmentation risks associated with some laser treatments.
Cosmetic laser treatments that remove the surface of the skin are incredibly effective at tightening the skin and producing new collagen underneath, but there is a risk for some patients. Because pigmentation can be destroyed, it can result in abnormal and lightened pigmentation. That is more problematic if you have darker skin. All of that said, it is important to remember that not all laser treatments are created equal, and many are perfectly safe for those with a darker skin color.
