Five Fantastic Reasons That We Love INFINI

One thing you can count on at Azul is that every single procedure we offer, whether it be surgical or non-surgical, will deliver excellent rejuvenating results. Dr. Flaharty wouldn’t have it any other way. That said, we do have some procedures that are our “favorites” for a number of reasons. One of those favorite treatments is INFINI™ Skin Tightening. It’s just… so cool! And yet, also hot at the same time, thanks to RF energy!
Have you ever heard of microneedling? This is a cosmetic procedure where tiny needles puncture the top layer of your skin to inflict small, intentional injuries to the deeper layers below. Once your body’s healing processes jump into action to start healing these “injuries,” new collagen and elastin will be produced. Collagen and elastin are responsible for maintaining a healthy skin texture and elasticity and microneedling can result in smoother, younger-looking skin.
INFINI is a high-tech version of microneedling. As with microneedling, INFINI uses a special applicator to puncture the skin with tiny needles to an exact depth. The tips of the needles then generate heat in the form of radiofrequency energy. This causes the already existing collagen under the skin to contract, tightening the skin above. The heat also helps supercharge the generation of new collagen, improving the results you would usually get with just regular microneedling.
So, it’s a great skin-tightening treatment, that’s obvious. But there are lots of other reasons why we love it too!
1. Your Skin Type Doesn’t Matter
For years, folks with certain skin types had to be very careful about cosmetic skin-tightening treatments. Some procedures that affect pigmentation could have negative side-effects for those with darker skin tones. And if you have super sensitive skin, certain cosmetic procedures could cause a great deal of discomfort.
INFINI carries no risk of either of these complications. It’s the perfect skin-tightening procedure for anyone, regardless of skin type. The needles are so tiny that they barely cause any surface skin damage. You might have some skin redness, kind of like a sunburn, but that’s about it!
2. Speed and Downtime
One of the biggest reasons that many avoid cosmetic surgery and other procedures is because of the associated downtime. They can’t take a week off for their skin to heal. That’s one of the biggest advantages of non-surgical cosmetic procedures like INFINI – they have very little downtime!
Getting INFINI is very quick. You just come into Azul and, 30 to 45 minutes later, the procedure is finished. That’s quick enough to have a treatment over your lunch break. But the real magic is how quickly you recover. Like I said, after treatment, your skin might be a little bit red and sensitive, but only 24 hours later, this redness will have faded and you can safely apply makeup again.
3. Comfort Level
Most cosmetic treatments, especially non-surgical ones designed to help tighten the skin, can be somewhat uncomfortable. Although they are minimally invasive, we are still intentionally damaging the skin to stimulate cellular turnover and new collagen production. That said, some procedures are more comfortable than others, and that takes us to INFINI.
Although we can’t say that INFINI is completely painless, many of our patients tell us that it’s far more comfortable than other skin-tightening procedures they’d had in the past. This is because INFINI deposits the heat energy below the surface of the skin. It does not pass the heat energy through the skin – so heat and discomfort are significantly improved over other types of skin-tightening procedures. We also use a custom-blended topical anesthetic to help minimize any pain you might be feeling during the procedure.
4. Erases Teenage Acne Scars
There are a lot of great things that I remember loving about being a teenager. Acne was NOT one of them. There is nothing worse than seeing a developing pimple in the mirror before a dance or big party. Many teenagers have it worse, suffering from terrible chronic acne that leaves scars and skin damage that will follow them long after they become adults.
One of the best uses for INFINI is to erase those acne scars permanently. Back when you were a teenager, your body was constantly at work healing your acne, resulting in an abnormal buildup of collagen under the skin. After an INFINI treatment, your body will start to break down and replace this abnormal collagen with healthy new collagen. This can have an incredible effect on your skin’s texture, as old scars will start to fade and perhaps even vanish!
5. Put a Halt to Acne!
Just because you’re an adult doesn’t mean that you don’t suffer from acne. Everyone gets occasional blackheads and pimples but, if you suffer from chronic adult acne, you might feel like you always have to cover it up with heavy makeup. When the top layer of your skin is punctured by the microneedles, it’s believed that your sebaceous glands are slightly damaged, impairing their ability to create sebum, one of the causes of acne. While not a permanent solution, acne improvement is likely to be a temporary side-effect of the treatment.
