Dr. Flaharty’s tried and true technique for tired eyes!

eyelid surgery

One of the earliest signs of facial aging is the loss of volume resulting in the appearance of dark circles or hollowness underneath the eyes. Many of our patients have said that people tell them they look tired or grumpy even when they feel great. Nobody wants that and we don’t want our patients to feel that way. Dr. Flaharty has developed a technique to treat dark under-eye circles with a two-step approach that combines injectable filler with a brightening peel to refresh and rejuvenate the eyes. The dermal filler treatment he uses is specifically designed to treat the tear trough and extended dark hollows under the eyes.

But the real magic of Dr. Flaharty’s under-eye treatment comes to life with his technique. Not only does Dr. Flaharty use a specific type of filler to rejuvenate the eyes, but he also uses a special blunt-tipped tiny cannula to place the filler in the precise areas where the patient needs it most. The use of cannulas to fill the lower eyelid has proven to be very effective in correcting the changes associated with aging, all while reducing the risk of swelling and bruising and resulting in faster recovery time. With the cannula technique, there are only two small punctures instead of multiple punctures with the needle technique.

Once Dr. Flaharty inserts the cannula, he uses a bidirectional, multilayered threading technique which allows more precise correction of the hollowness underneath the lower eyelid. The multilayered threading technique provides for a more integrated distribution of the filler throughout the surrounding soft tissues around the eyes. This creates a more complete and natural result. Like any delicate, specialized procedure of this nature, you want a highly-trained facial cosmetic surgeon with training in oculoplastic surgery to assist you in achieving incredible and natural-looking results.

Dr. Flaharty’s under-eye cannula technique may be the perfect solution for your tired eyes. If you’re looking to perk up your peepers, give us a call today at (239) 747-1148 for your complimentary consultation.
