Usually the last word you think of as summer approaches is “cold.” But cold is actually the secret to getting ready for another summer season – one where you can relax and enjoy yourself at the beach, instead of feeling self-conscious about your areas of stubborn fat that just will not go away, no matter what you do. There’s no need to hide under flowing caftans or spend more hours than you already do in the gym, though. Our team of medical aestheticians at our Fort Myers, Naples, and Bonita Springs offices can help you prepare to hit the beach with confidence.
CoolSculpting is FDA-approved for use on fat of the abdomen, thighs, hips and back. Cold energy is applied to fatty areas via a handheld applicator, preserving the surrounding skin and tissue, while killing fat cells. These cells then literally “melt away” as they are metabolized by your body. There are no incisions, bandages or downtime – just quick results that look great. CoolMini is (as you might guess) a miniature version of CoolSculpting that is specifically intended for use on fat in smaller areas (such as your chin, underarms and knees – areas that don’t respond well to exercise).
You’re likely to be a candidate for CoolSculpting if you’re within a few pounds of your goal weight but are having trouble reducing fat in specific areas. There’s no special preparation required; the treatment takes about an hour for each area, during which you can read, work on your laptop or even grab a catnap. You may have some numbness and/or redness after your CoolSculpting treatment, but this seldom lasts more than a few hours. Over the next two to three months, you’ll notice a gradual reduction of 20−25% of the targeted fat. So, you should definitely wait at least two to three months before buying a swimsuit in your new size, since the results can continue to develop for up to six months
Exilis body contouring is another quick and effective way to slim down for summer. Available at our Naples, Bonita Springs and Fort Myers offices, Exilis delivers warm energy to the epidermal layer of the skin for tightening, as well as to the deep thermal fat layer for body contouring. Each area requires about twenty minutes to treat, so you can target multiple areas in a one-hour session. Results are usually visible after two sessions, with usually no more than five treatment sessions needed. Unlike CoolSculpting, Exilis treatments must be repeated approximately every two years to maintain results.
Let the cold prepare you for a hot summer of fun and confidence. Since the results take some time, you may want to request a consultation now, using our online form.
