Meet Dr. Padilla
Please help us to welcome Maximilian Padilla, MD to Azul Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa! Dr. Padilla is a board-eligible ophthalmologist who is fellowship trained in ophthalmic and facial plastic surgery. Dr. Padilla received a fine arts scholarship to Albertson College of Idaho where he graduated Cum Laude, in three years, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Padilla infuses the dynamic intersection of art and functionality through oculoplastic surgery to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. His philosophy is to treat every patient as family and help them to look and feel their best so they can enjoy every day to the fullest!

Dr. Padilla is a board-eligible ophthalmologist who recently completed an ASOPRS Oculofacial Plastic Surgery Fellowship at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital. During his fellowship, he was an Attending Physician at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Surgery in Ophthalmology at Thomas Jefferson University. He is trained in the following advanced techniques:
- Brow Surgery
- Skin Cancer
- Lacrimal Surgery
- Eye and Facial Trauma
He received his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine followed by an internship at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He then completed his residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa in 2018.
A few of his many professional society memberships include American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Tampa Bay Ophthalmology Society, The American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, American Medical Association and The Florida Society of Ophthalmology. He has published many articles and book chapters on Age Related Macular Degeneration, Progress in Retinal and Eye Research, Hereditary Optic Neuropathy and Ipsilateral Supraorbital Nerve Transfer.
Dr. Padilla’s inquisitive nature and love of research has led to the development of his very own Padilla Serrated Enucleation Scissors that will soon be a part of the Bausch and Lomb instrument catalogue.
Outside of Work
Dr. Padilla enjoys fishing, boating, painting portraits of animals, working out at the gym, participating in natural bodybuilding competitions and spending time with his family and border-doodle pup named Jessie.
